Meet Anna Sanchez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, MPH-C
MSICS MensSana, P.C. is a Veteran owned private practice clinic that integrates mental health services across the lifespan. Anna Sanchez is a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has over 37 years of experience in healthcare.
She has extensive work experience in psychiatry in the inpatient stabilization and substance abuse units. She is a consult liaison in emergency psychiatry. She has worked in community mental health and outpatient clinics. She provides care for both adults and adolescents (ages 14-18).
She received the Military Nurse of the Year 2020 during the COVID-19 Pandemic. She is consistent with her nursing practice as she recently received another prestigious award as the Nurse of the Year, the 2023 Mary Jane Seacole Award, this past 1 April 2023. She was nominated for the Nurse Practitioner of the Year in November 2024 and 2024. She was awarded the Veteran Impact Award in 2024 by Warrior Alliance
She has in-depth knowledge of psychopharmacology and individual, group, and family psychotherapy. She provides a holistic approach to those suffering from depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, military sexual trauma, stress, familial and relationship issues, and transitions in life.
She delivers excellent advanced practice care utilizing evidence-based research. Her approach to wellness is by integrating health into the physical, mental, spiritual, and social aspects of life. She has a broad understanding of the holistic approach to the care of the person in the mind, body, and spirit.
She currently serves as Field Grade Office with the rank of Major for then United States Air Force Reserves at the 94 Airlift Wing/Aeromedical Staging Squadron at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, as a medical provider in nursing. She deployed in Korea as a Coordinator for the Sexual Assault Response Program Coordinator (SARC) in 2019. Her military background focuses on the mental health of service members who have experienced traumatic events from military sexual trauma (MST) and combat trauma that resulted in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She was tasked as SARC at Dobbins ARB and overhauled the SAPR Program singlehandedly. She brought in Equine Therapy, Horticultural, Recreational, Pet, and Art Therapy for a Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention month for all branches of the military.
For the last 12 years, she has educated service members on resiliency, suicide prevention, and alcohol and substance abuse prevention programs. She focuses on the strengths of service members and has been invited multiple times to teach pre and post-deployers at the Yellow Ribbon Program. She anchors her military members and guide them through education on the Resiliency Tactical Pause. She is an avid advocate for women’s empowerment in the military. She is a certified Master Resiliency Trainer and is D-SAACP certified. She received a distinguished award and won the Air Force Reserve Command 2020 USAF Company Grade Nurse of the Year! In 2021 she was”coined” Maj General John Hickock, Brigadier General Craig McPike, and Col Juliana Olson.
She served as Adjunct Clinical Faculty for Brenau University and Kennesaw State University in mental health and medsurg. She actively volunteers and collaborates with local veteran groups to prevent suicide and increase the positive outcomes of military service members.
